Back in July, Eater reported that Chicago chef Joncarl Lachman was bringing his talents to Philly where he grew up. Well, Lachman recently told Eater that he has finally settled on a location at 1046 Tasker Street, right off Philly's white-hot East Passyunk Avenue. Back then, he was calling the restaurant Winkel, but has changed the name to Noord.
Lachman owns Chicago cult-fave Home Bistro, and has been looking at returning to Philly for quite awhile. Spots he was considering included Meme (now a Pub & Kitchen production), and the current location of Fond (the Fond crew is keeping it). Well, it looks like Noord and Fond will be sharing an intersection anyway.
Expect a BYOB joint that focuses on Nordic cuisine like smoked fish, toast courses, and a rotisserie. But, don't get excited just yet, as Noord won't open until Spring of 2013.
