Tomorrow night, Lloyd soft-opens to the public at 529 East Girard Avenue, bringing racks upon racks of brown liquors. Owners Scott Coudriet and wife/partner Taylor (the restaurant is named for Scott's father Lloyd) are officially cutting the ribbon on Saturday night, but tomorrow night they're offering a sneak peek of the food and drink for the locals. All menu items (both drinks and food) will be discounted during the preview, which goes from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. On Saturday, regular hours will be in effect from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m.
If the address sounds familiar, it once was the Hot Potato Cafe which starred in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares before going belly up. The whiskey-focused concept for Lloyd is a good match for the neighborhood, so the odds of shouty Gordon Ramsay showing up are very slim.
