The Dolphin Tavern closed suddenly in mid-August, and the then-owners were adamant on getting the place back up and running. There hasn't been a peep since that fateful day, but news comes today that the suddenly empire-minded Avram Hornik has stepped in and bought the place. There are some shots of the interior over on the Passyunk Post that suggests it'll continue to employ strippers, which is very good news.
In addition to opening Morgan's Pier this summer, Hornik refurbished and renovated defunct jazz house Ortlieb's, and has taken over the long-shuttered Boot & Saddle on Broad Street. The Dolphin is surely the shiniest jewel in Hornik's crown as the new king of South Philly.
