Stuck in between the "Missed Connections" and the "Rants and Raves" posts on Craigslist was a nondescript entry for an estate sale in Chestnut Hill this past weekend. Well, the eagle-eyed editor of our sister site Curbed recognized the address, 8872 Towanda Avenue, as the home of Philly restaurant legend Georges Perrier.
Perrier, who recently sold Le Bec-Fin after 40 years in business, put his house on the market for $2.5 million a little while ago. Last weekend, though, Perrier cleaned house and unloaded just about everything inside the walls of the place, save for the copper wiring. So, does this mean Georges has finally sold his house and is leaving Philly in his rear view mirror? Stay tuned.
Also, if any of our readers went to the sale and bought Perrier's wares (including his professional copper cookware), please shoot us a note on the tipline
