Vetri and Garces Play Turkey Bowl 4 This Thursday

The restaurant crews from Marc Vetri's and Jose Garces' empire square off in the 4th annual Turkey Bowl, a Thanksgiving tradition that finds a bunch of chefs playing football hungover in cold weather. Both restaurateurs have charitable foundations, and the winner of the tussle will receive a donation of $5,000 from the loser, in addition to $5,000 from the victor, for a grand total of $10,000. The game is scheduled for 9 a.m. at UPenn's Franklin Field if you're interested in watching the festivities.

Last year's "defensive battle" ended in a 1-0 victory for Marc Vetri's squad, and featured a lot of wounded ducks and dropped passes. Let's hope that Vetri and his lieutenants newfound obsession with Jiu Jitsu will give them a violent edge and quicker reflexes to run back an ill-advised pass the other way for a pick six.
