Wow, here comes some fantastic Friday news. Eater just got word that the legendary Chink's Steaks is talking about expansion after 63 years in business with just one storefront. The original Chink's location at 6030 Torresdale Avenue in Northeast Philly is quite a hike from the rest of the city, so, the massive fanbase that has since moved out of the 'hood won't have to plan a whole afternoon just to enjoy some beefy comfort food.
Sadly, even though the cheesesteak is our birthright, most of the touristy shops are pretty damn terrible. But, Chink's most definitely makes one of the best versions in town, and ranks up there with John's Roast Pork and Cosmi's.
There's no word on where the new Chink's Steaks might end up, but stay tuned for more info. Until then, let's give the powers that be a few suggestions. In the comments section below, list what open restaurant spaces you think would be a great landing spot for Chink's 2.0. Happy Friday, indeed.
