It was bound to happen, but no one thought it would take this long: Di Bruno Bros. is finally releasing a giant book about cheese called House of Cheese: A Guide to Wedges, Recipes, and Pairings. Written by Madame Fromage herself, Tenaya Darlington, the tome is all about the history of the shop that opened in 1939 in the Italian Market, run by brothers Danny and Joe Di Bruno who came here in search of a stinky, fermented dream.
The book will cover 170 different varieties of cheese, tons of recipes, and expert pairing advice for novices and experienced cheesy freaks alike. With the extensive knowledge that oozes from the cheese mongers working at Di Bruno's, as well as their recent star turn playing the expert's expert on Bourdain's visit, there's a good chance this book will be the final word on all things fermented.
Local publisher Running Press is putting the book out in early May 2013, so stay tuned for more info as we get closer to the drop date.
