Last night we attended the Philly Cooks competition and told you about Jason Cichonski of Ela walking away with the Best Appetizer early in the evening for his rendition of whipped robiola bosina with kumquats and mushrooms. Joining Cichonski on the winner's podium was John Strain of Valanni Social who won Best Entrée with a pan seared Magret Duck breast with cocoa coffee glaze; Stefanie Kitchner of Ciao Bella Cakes who won Best Dessert with her Gateau Lemon Cake; and Chris Calhoun of The Hunt Room at The Desmond who's poached Pacific Halibut was named Dish of the Year. Congratulations to the winning chefs, and good luck to everyone reading this trying to get a reservation to try these plates for yourself. [EaterWire]
