Legendary competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi obliterated the competition this morning at The 20th Annual Wing Bowl, devouring 337 flippers. Not only did Kobayashi eclipse the previous record by more than 80 wings, the judges noted that they were the cleanest bones they'd seen in twenty years. Second place went to 3-time champ Super Squibb, who downed 271 wings, and third place was awarded to El Wingador who ate 250.
This was the first visit to Philly for the international superstar, and the local media has been acting like the Pope is visiting. Since we are one of the fattest cities in the U.S., we guess that's only natural. While we salute the gluttonous efforts of all of those who participated in the excruciatingly painful challenge, we can't help but feel a little dirty and sort of sad that this will be headline news all day in the tri-state area.
