A tipster pointed out that the Wawa outpost at 17th and Arch Streets will be "closed for renovations" beginning this Sunday, lasting approximately two months. We're not sure what kind of Wawa renovations take two months, unless it's becoming another Old Nelson Deli. Eater Philly is skeptical, to say the least, that this place will re-open at all, so you'd better get your fill of Turkey Shortis, Iced Tea, and the creepy-yet-addictive Wawa "Iced Coffee" that tastes like a smoky oil spill. Yet another step in the process of the once-ubiquitous downtown Philly icon slowly moving out to the burbs, just like your married friends. Sigh. [EaterWire]
