Han Dynasty Moving Into Former Mid-Atlantic Space

New, 3 comments

Han Chiang just rang up Eater Philly to let us know he closed a deal on the space at 38th and Market Street that will become another Han Dynasty in the space that was formerly Mid-Atlantic. Chiang, who just opened another Han Dynasty a few months back in Manayunk, is quickly expanding his brand. Other locations in the Han Dynasty empire include Old City, Exton, and Royersford. A previously-planned Harvard Square location (n Boston, MA) is on hold as of now.

Chiang also mentioned that he is planning a three month trip to China this summer to attend culinary school, so he can update the menu himself and train chefs.

"I need to hire some passionate American chefs, because I go through so many Chinese chefs that don't want to learn new techniques and dishes," said Chiang. "If I learn how to do this myself, I'll be able to train these guys. I know the quality slips in my restaurants if I'm not right there, and that needs to stop."
