Looks like star chef de cuisine Christopher Kearse of Pumpkin is flying the coop to open his own spot in South Philly. Chef Kearse—who spent time at modernist temples Alinea and Tru, as well as Lacroix and Blackfish in Philly—is moving into 1911 E. Passyunk Avenue, which was recently rehabbed by the P. A. R. C. The concept is "French, but special, not special occasion" and BYOB. Opening date is end of August. [The Insider, Photo]
