Marc Vetri's Alla Spina has been making good use of the deep fryer, bringing in crowds to watch soccer matches and down liters and liters of Italian craft beer. Jeff Michaud, chef and co-owner of Osteria, has passed along the good news that Alla Spina will soon be adding brunch service to the proceedings.
"Starting June 3rd, Alla Spina will be adding a complete brunch menu that will be available on Sundays from 10 A.M. until 3 P.M., followed by Happy Hour, and then head right into dinner service."
Highlights of the menu include a pig's head hash poutine; gnocchi and pork belly topped with a poached egg; and rhubarb and ricotta doughnuts. Of course, there will be plenty of signature drinks to wash down your eggs, including cappucino and grappa, bloody mary's, and a few beer-based cocktails. The menu is not finalized, though, and Michaud said there will probably be a few changes before it launches.
