The Travel Channel is debuting a new show called Adam Richman's Best Sandwich in America, and Philly has some representation. DiNic's Roast Pork sandwich stand in the Reading Terminal Market has made the final list of 27 breaded beasts, and will be on the first episode airing June 6th. DiNic's is joined by the Cap and Egg from Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh, and the Corned Beef and Pastrami from Katz's Deli in NYC.
Richman will judge each entrant on the BITE scale, which stands for (B)read, (I)nterior, (T)aste, and (E)ating experience. Sigh. All stupid anagrams aside, DiNic's was a huge star on Richman's other show Man vs. Food, so there's a good shot DiNic's could take home the crown.
DiNic's Roast Pork was a number 1 seed in our own Sandwich Supremacy tournament here on Eater, but lost out before the finals. But, Tony Luke's roast pork sandwich went home the winner, so we're glad to see a locak roast pork sandwich represent our town over the cheesesteak.
