Katie Loeb, one of Philly's notable cocktail mistresses, is headed to work for the newest outpost of Han Dynasty in University City. Loeb will be designing a new beverage program for owner Han Chiang, who has decided to add a signature cocktail list to his successful brand for the first time ever.
"I'm going to develop some old-school kitschy Asian restaurant cocktails, like giant Scorpion Bowls and Flaming Volcanos," Loeb told Eater. "We're going to make all of our own ingredients and mixes, to keep everything fresh, and give them our own spin. It's going to be fun."
Han Dynasty UCity soft-opened over the graduation weekend, and is still fine tuning the service and menu. Loeb, who also has a cocktail book coming out soon, said as those issues are worked out, the new drink menu will make an appearance.
