Chef Marc Vetri and some of his crew spend their Friday and Saturday mornings putting each other into submission holds at Precision Jiu-Jitsu in King of Prussia. While this isn't news to his local followers on Twitter, The Wall Street Journal thought it was print-worthy, and went in-depth with Vetri's life in the ring, where he gives his other chefs fat lips. This is pretty groundbreaking stuff if you think about it. After all, how often do you get the opportunity to make your boss tap out while squeezing the life out of his or her scrawny neck?
Vetri talks about how back problems caused him to cut back on a high-impact basketball schedule, and the need to add a little violence to his otherwise yoga-framed weekends where line cooks and customers add just a little bit of stress to his life.
