This past weekend local mini-chain Iron Hill Brewery was named the Best Small Brewpub at the World Beer Cup held in Boulder, CO. Iron Hill, which often produces numerous medal-winning beers at the annual Great American Beer Festival, has now won the prestigious award in consecutive years for the first time ever.
Iron Hill now boasts 9 locations around the tri-state area, each with their own head brewer that is not only responsible for making the flagship entries, but designing their own one-off programs. In essence, each outpost is completely unique for the beer nerds looking for the next great beer.
Iron Hill also won individual awards at the WBC, with a gold medal for their Iron Hill Old Ale in the Gold, Old, or Strong Ale category; and a gold for their Russian Imperial Stout in the British-Style Imperial Stout category.
