Ralic's Steakhouse has started a special menu for people that have decided to undergo the very popular "weight-control" surgery that shrinks your stomach. Before the masses roll their collective eyes at the thought of taking advantage of a fad, restaurateur David Ralic did it for himself.
“I know how it feels to be an out of control eater,” said Ralic. "In the year that I’ve owned and operated Ralic’s Steakhouse, I gained 40 lbs. and maxed out at 420 lbs. before undergoing a vertical sleeve gastrectomy a few weeks ago. Since my surgery, which shrunk my stomach from the size of a large melon to the size of a banana, I’ve lost 30 lbs. and realized there needs to be healthier, smaller options for diners dealing with obesity and lifestyle changes after bariatric surgery.”
While eating is a big chunk of the dining out experience, the social aspect is just as important, and this gives those people a chance to be like everyone else. Ralic teamed up with his nutritionist and surgeon to develop the menu, which is available right now.
