A sign showed up at 1740 South 11th Street announcing the imminent arrival of Toyotomi, a sushi and Asian restaurant that's BYOB. The space used to be Bali, an Indonesian noodle house, but had odd hours, and never seemed to be open when people normally eat. A quick look at the menu shows Toyotomi is doing the standard sashimi and sushi offerings, as well as a whole section dedicated to spicy rolls.
In addition to the sushi, there's a clutch of Korean dishes like bibimbap, bulgogi, and kolbi. For you Japanese fans, there's a selection of tempura and teriyaki. For the green set, they're offering a pretty hefty amount of veggie sushi, too. No word on when the place is opening, but there's been a lot of action going in and out of the restaurant, so it should be any day.
