The Mildred Is Replacing James on 8th Street

The new restaurant from Mike Santoro (opening executive chef of Talula's Garden) and Mike Dorris will be called The Mildred. Sources close to the project say it's a done deal, and the name is set.

The previous restaurant in that location, James, was a neighborhood favorite, and had a very serious cult following in the local food set. As for timelines, Santoro hasn't divulged any just yet, but said that painting of the facade will begin in about a week. Santoro is still tweaking the concept, but we hear it will "new and exciting, something no one else is doing around here."
