The Vetri tasting menu is jumping from $135 to $155 starting in September. Vetri has long been the priciest restaurant in Philly, until Le Bec Fin 2.0 decided upon a $150 admission fee for their tasting menu. This incremental price hike is what is referred to in economics as a Veblen good, where preference is increased by increasing the price. In other words, being expensive is part of being the best.
