The legendary Main Line deli Hymie's, along with their patrons, were robbed on Saturday night by men carrying guns. About 30 minutes before shuttering for the night, manager Lenny Silow noticed a masked individual heading for the cash register, and ordered employee Michelle Horev to call the police. After a few minutes, the robbery was over, and the men had escaped with cash and some customers cell phones.
Hymie's has been a staple of the neighborhood since opening their doors in 1955. As of Sunday, everything was back to normal, and Hymie's was serving brunch to a packed house. Luckily, no one was hurt, and the region's best pastrami mile-high and pickle bar continue on unscathed.
