It's been a few weeks since Honest Tom's announced that their mobile operation would be taken over by the Maru Global people, and today some more details have emerged about what and when would be happening with the new truck. Owner Nicole Igarashi told Eater that the truck will be operational in September, and that their famous takoyaki balls would definitely be on the menu when they hit the streets.
"We were worried about space, but our signature item, the takoyaki, will be sold on the truck," Igarashi said. "We will also have the curry, the curry burrito, and we're very excited to announce that the onigiri have made the cut, as well."
They won't be setting up in Garden Variety as previously though, but they will be taking Honest Tom's space at Clark Park in West Philly. Expect the Maru Truck to also be around for special events at The Japanese Tea House in Fairmount. The full schedule will come into focus as their launch date gets closer.
