While the summer is quickly coming to a close, there are still a few exciting things on the horizon for the Philadelphia food scene. One of them is the impending arrival of Craft & Claw, a mecca of shellfish dropped in the middle of Old City. The ownership told Eater that they're opening pretty soon, too, sometime between the middle and end of September.
The executive chef, Nick Fabian, is a veteran of Anastasi Seafood, and has lots of experience working with live crabs. The menu is pretty straightforward with a few different varieties of crab legs available, fish and chips, mussels, and shrimp cocktail. On the more creative side, there's a blue crab mac and cheese, tempura fried crab fingers, fish tacos, and crab cake BLT sliders. For you land lovers, there are Baltimore-style mozzarella sticks, wings, and a wedge salad.
Fabian added that on Monday night, there's an all-you-can-eat snow crab platter with steak frites, and on Wednesday it's all-you-can-eat blue crabs. Both specials go for an affordable $25. A selection of oysters will also be available every day. The beer list is 100% domestic, and features all craft brews, obviously.
