Avenue Scoop Quietly Opened in Queen Village

While temperatures were dropping quickly on Saturday, owner Carmen LaRosa was swinging open the doors on Avenue Scoop at 932 E. Passyunk Avenue. LaRosa's new venture is an ice cream/coffee joint that's a one-stop-shop for all of your carbohydrate and dairy needs.

The menu has a little something for everyone, including bagels, coffee, bagels, waffles, pastries, and Breyer's ice cream. There's an ice cream-stuffed cannoli served like a banana split, and a doggy water fountain for your fuzzy buddies. LaRosa said that when the weather turns warm, they're going to have a front porch for hanging out and people watching the boozers going in and out of the Royal Tavern.
