Food & Wine restaurant editor Kate Krader finally made it to Philly after a decade in NYC and wrote an amazing tome about all of the wonderful places she ate while here. She decided to hook up with Philly expat/musical genius Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson to be her guide for a few stops in town, but also met up with two of our most influential and knowledgeable food journos, Joy Manning and Adam Erace for another leg of the journey.
While she visits many of the common Philly favorites, like Talula's Garden, Vernick, Pizzeria Vetri, Vedge, Alla Spina, Fork, Le Virtu, and Serpico, it's worth a read to see what makes an impression on a Food & Wine restaurant honcho. After all, Krader often galavants across the globe, and it's interesting to see how our best holds up against places like Fäviken Magasinet in Järpen, Sweden, one of the hottest restaurants on the planet that she just happened to visit this past summer.
