While restaurants are busy popping up left and right on the always-hot East Passyunk Avenue, Fond continues to quietly blow everyone's damn mind each time chef-owner Lee Styer debuts a new menu. Luckily, it's that time again, and Styer's fall offerings are a thing of beauty.
Some of the standouts this time around are the escargot with bacon and butternut squash, the pork belly with Okinawan sweet potatoes, and the wahoo with gnocchi and saffron sauce. The two menu stalwarts—sweetbreads and risotto—look to be extra amazing this season, as the former features sweet and sour eggplant, and the latter is framed with truffle and hazelnuts.
The booze list is ready for sweaters and beanies, too, as a specialty Sazerac and Manhattan make an appearance, and you sweet-toothed milkshake lovers will gravitate towrd the Espresso Martini which has Bailey's, vanilla bean syrup, and a shot of espresso in the glass.
