It looks like longtime Manayunk bistro, Bisou, has called it quits. Chef/Owner Clark Gilbert announced the news on their Facebook page, much to the dismay of locals and dedicated fans. Originally called Gemelli on Main when it opened in May of 2011, Clark changed the name and concept earlier this year from Euro-generic to French, complete with bright red walls, black leather couches, and a fireplace.
As a last ditch effort to bring in the crowds, Bisou debuted a second floor outdoor deck in August that was a big hit with the happy hour crowds. But, it ended up being too little, too late. No word on what's next for Gilbert, but there's no doubt he'll bounce back with something new. Stay tuned.
