Status: Open for dinner
The Farm and Fisherman Tavern and Market, which expands the brand of the popular Wash Square West BYOB into Jersey, opened on Saturday in Cherry Hill. The new concept is a more casual market-restaurant hybrid; owners Josh Lawler and Todd Fuller hope it will be welcomed as a family-friendly alternative to the many chains in town.
For now, the restaurant and bar will be open for dinner from 5 p.m. each day. Moving forward, the Farm and Fisherman will operate as a market and cafe throughout the day, selling coffee, prepared foods, and breakfast and lunch options like sandwiches, salads, and burgers. Lunch service is slated to start in a couple of weeks, with breakfast to follow. Expect similarly well-sourced local ingredients and clean flavors as in the original Farm and Fisherman: the menu so far includes things like whole chicken roasted in hay, a "bloody beet salad", and Barnegat scallops with winter squash and pumpkin seed vinaigrette.
