Naked Philly has put together an extensive history of City Tavern, complete with lots of old sketches, photos, and maps dating as far back as the early 1800s. (The existing tourist-draw structure, of course, was built in the 1970s, but the historical angle is still entirely legit.) Visit for the history lesson, stay for the increasingly silly captions. Wonder what "sullen kid with bad summer job" is up to these days. [Naked Philly]
