When Nicholas Elmi isn't busy kicking ass and taking names on Top Chef in New Orleans, he's been busy getting his very first restaurant, Laurel, ready for primetime. And for those of you waiting to see it up-close and personal, we've got a few shots from inside the establishment that's opening up tomorrow evening at 1617 East Passyunk Avenue, the former home of Fond.
Elmi told Eater that he's cut the number of seats down to 24, but lucky for us the restaurant continues life as a BYOB. The lighting has been toned down to a more intimate level, but the energy is still the same. Considering the big-time success that Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki had when it lived as Fond, Elmi and Laurel are sitting on lots of good luck for a successful run.
