Everyone's favorite expat, Questlove, and his business partner, Stephen Starr, have pulled the plug on Hybird. While it only lasted 6 months, their Chelsea Market fried chicken experiment got lots of buzz and attention from the best rags and tastemakers in the biz, but somehow the equation didn't add up to success.

Thompson wrote a very Jack Kerouac-esque stream of consciousness missive on his Facebook wall to let his fans know about the impending closure of Hybird, and it's absolutely worth a read. It doesn't appear that sales numbers were to blame for the shutter, and Questo alludes to the fact that he's not done following his food passion just yet. Either way, it sucks, because that was some damned good chicken.
