Plenty Cafe Opens Rittenhouse Location

Photo: Plenty Philly/Instagram

While other doors were busted to host a litany of Black Friday horrors, Rittenhouse saw the doors open in a more civilized manner on the long-awaited second location of Plenty. (We first posted renderings in April of this year, when the projected opening date was said to be May.)

Fans of the original East Passyunk location will recognize a lot of what's on offer: the opening menu includes favorites like the Madrileno (beef and chorizo meatballs, saffron aioli, manchego, and roasted poblanos) and the Seoul (bulgogi, pickled daikon and cabbage, and scallion-sriracha mayo) have made the jump to the new spot. Starting this week, there's talk of a signature sandwich featuring coffee-braised lamb with baba ganoush, pickled fennel, peppers, and arugula — they've run coffee-braised lamb as a special at the South Philly location, but with different Greek-inspired preps.

The coffee in the lamb braise is Rival Bros. Whistle & Cuss; options for drinking will come from Rival Bros., La Colombe, and ReAnimator. (Although, note to Plenty: we might pay to drink that braising liquid. Hey, just think about it.)
