Global Crepes and Local Shakes Now Serving

Photo: Passyunk Post

Global Crepes and Local Shakes opened in Passyunk Square late last week, after a protracted opening process that dragged on for 18 months, according to the Passyunk Post's opening report.

On the menu are coffee and tea drinks (including a couple versions of chai), smoothies and shakes, and crepes and waffles. There are also a few Indian touches like lassis, chaat, and wraps containing saag paneer or chicken tikka. According to the P'yunk Post, family traditions inform most of the menu, with a Brittany-style crepe recipe from owner Liza Hussain's grandmother and the Indian influence via her husband.

Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
