Tonight is the official opening night for Kevin Sbraga's second restaurant, The Fat Ham. We checked in while the crew was still recovering from the first of two friends and family nights, so the space you see in the pictures will likely not be exactly as you find it when you visit. General manager Ben Fileccia mused aloud about losing a few seats to yield a little more room around the bar, and there were some minor decor tweaks still to be made.

The bar is where you'll find the most change in the coming days and weeks. The liquor license hasn't come through yet, so they're operating as a BYOB for now and will make the necessary modifications to the back bar once they can actually bring in the beverages that will fill the space. UPDATE: The liquor license is now in, and the bar program is definitely something to look forward to, with a couple of barrel-aged cocktails, fun plays on sweet tea, and lots of other fun touches.

The opening menu, full of ridiculously appealing Southern fare that's both respectful and inventive, is here. (Fileccia alluded to possible minor changes here too before opening, but said the dishes and prices are pretty much there.) Tonight and tomorrow, there are no reservations being taken, so you can check it out for yourself this very weekend if you don't mind a crowd.
