Out-of-towner Jamie "The Bear" McDonald won Wing Bowl 21 this morning at the Wells Fargo Center. McDonald (pictured above) won most of the 27 events he entered last year, which was his very first as a competitive eater. McDonald ate 287 wings in a half-hour, followed closely by second place finisher Jonathan "Super" Squib with 282 wings, who was the odds on favorite to win his fourth Wing Bowl title.
The chiseled and diesel McDonald looks to be the new hotness on the competitve eating circuit, replacing the softer, rounder physique of past title holders. Considering a $20,000 check was on the line, it's not a bad days work to gorge with the best of them.
