It's with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of chef Pat Cancelliere's 943. Cancelliere opened the Argentinian BYOB in 2011, and it quickly became a favorite of the food set, industry people, and critics alike. Soon after the buzz built up to a critical mass, though, tragedy struck the restaurant, and Cancelliere had to bow out of the game to undergo triple bypass surgery.
He did bounce back health-wise, but, sadly, 943 never completely came back, and the Italian Market is losing one of the best restaurants that has opened there in quite some time. Cancelliere hasn't hung up his spurs for good, though, so expect to see him working the pots and pans in the near future.
