When Stateside announced that critically acclaimed chef George Sabatino was leaving the fold, it caught everyone in Philly by surprise. But today, the ownership has named Elijah Milligan as Sabatino's successor. Milligan's pedigree is solid, as his resume includes stops at Le Bec Fin, a. kitchen, Vernick, and most recently working for David Ansill at Bar Ferdinand. It's quite an impressive run for someone who is just 24 years old.
While Sabatino certainly launched Stateside with unprecedented success and acclaim almost overnight, the ownership feel that Milligan will take Stateside to the next level. And, since Sabatino was one of the most buzzed-about chefs in 2012, people will be watching Milligam and Stateside very closely in 2013. He's also an early contender for next year's Hottest Chef. Good luck chef, and welcome to The Big Show.
