Status: Opened today at 7 a.m.

The Rittenhouse outpost of NYC's popular Joe Coffee cut the ribbon this morning at 1845 Walnut Street, swinging their park-facing doors open to the public. The shop will be open weekdays from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., and on the weekends from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Owners Jon and Gabrielle Rubinstein started in the industry a decade ago, and have built one of the strongest coffee brands in all of New York. The Rittenhouse shop is their first outside of The Big Apple, as Jon Rubinstein believes that Philly's coffee scene is one of the best in the country, and will support their brand.

A big part of what Joe Coffee does is their education program, and Rubinstein said that will continue with the Philly shop, too. And this isn't just some rinky dink one hour barista wannabe class, as Joe goes in depth on the many facets of coffee history and technique, including cupping, a pour over workshop, steaming milk (1 & 2), espresso (1 & 2), and the secret to brewing coffee at home.
