Munish Narula told Eater that he's in the process of opening a restaurant near East Passyunk Avenue (we're hearing he's taking over Kris at 11th and Federal Streets, but he wouldn't confirm the rumor) called Tiffin Bistro. Narula said the concept for Tiffin Bistro will sit somewhere between the original beloved Tiffin delivery service and the high-end Tashan. Narula said the menu will be mostly classic Indian fare, but made up of dishes that we haven't seen in his restaurants before.
The most important facet of this fantastic news is that there will be delivery from Tiffin Bistro to the neighborhoods of South Philly, where there are absolutely no options for Indian cuisine brought to your door. Considering that many of the city's young food-focused residents live in South Philly, the revenue brought in by a delivery monopoly should make the place a big hit. And you East Passyunk denizens won't have to wait long, as Narula said the new restaurant should be open in 6 to 8 weeks.
