You won't be able to get a cup of Philly's best hot chocolate next winter, as Queen Village cocoa mecca Cafe Golosa is closing at the end of the month. Golosa opened on a quiet corner in 2007, bringing high-quality chocolate and chocolate-based desserts, and, of course, drinking choclate to Philly. Owner Fabio Scarpelli is a true chocolate mastermind, and is quite talented at putting together custom desserts for diners looking for some quiet romance and intimacy.

Scarpelli recently announced the upcoming shutter of Golosa on his website, stating that his chocolate operation would be closing for good on May 24. So, if you're a fan or never got the chance to try Golosa out, you have until next Friday to experience it first-hand, and say goodbye to a true original. This is truly sad news.

"Dear Friends,
After six years of flowing chocolate and good times, Golosa is closing.

We cherished every minute of bringing you the highest quality products and service. We would like to thank you for all the support and friendship along the way.

We were honored to be a part of your lives, from bridal and baby showers, to birthday parties, to romantic evenings, to a pick-me-up after a long day. And we hope that you enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed yours.

To properly say goodbye to all our friends Golosa will be open Thursday- Saturday 6pm – 11pm, until Friday 5/24. Please stop by to enjoy our treats for the last time, to take advantage of the sale prices on selected artisanal imported italian chocolates or just to say goodbye."
