We're hearing that Serpico—the long-awaited collaboration project between former Momofuku lieutenant Peter Serpico and Philly restaurant overlord Stephen Starr—is running Friends & Family service this week.
For the uninitiated, F&F is a dress rehearsal of sorts that helps the restaurant staff fine tune the dining experience and polish kitchen timing before going live with real diners. F&F is also the last step before opening up to the public, which means we could be seeing a ribbon-cutting at the Starr-mo-fuku project by Friday.
Starr has always been good at keeping the details of his big projects hush-hush, but the mystery behind Serpico is on a whole other level. Even though we're only a week or so out from a possible big reveal, details surrounding the contents of the menu, the focus of the bar program, and the design aesthetic for the space has been kept on the down low. But, it looks like we'll know a whole lot more in the next week or so. Stay tuned.
