What Makes The Cheesesteak at John's So Damn Good?

Photo: Terence Jay Fines

For those who already worship at the Church of John's Roast Pork, you know what makes that cheesesteak so damn good and worth the pilgrimage to Weccacoe Avenue. But, for the uninitiated that have only heard stories of John's greasy greatness, Eater HQ has done all of the heavy lifting and put together a point-by-point explanation of their amazing cheesesteak in a new feature called Eater Elements.

The timing of this feature couldn't have been any better, as Bucci, Jr. has returned to battle on the line after a five year war with leukemia. But, he obviously hasn't lost his touch one bit. Whether it's the fresh bread from Carangi Bakery or the loin tail cut owner John Bucci, Jr. uses for his steak, all of the elements within makes his version of the Philly signature sandwich better than any other in town.
