Everything is coming up Sara May in 2013. The lovely Franklin Fountain soda jerk/confectioner—and 2013 StarChefs Rising Star Artisan—has been named pastry chef of Marcie Turney's upcoming Italian joint, Little Nonna's. While Turney hasn't dropped too many specific details about what will be on the Little Nonna's menu, she did give a few hints as to what May would be whipping up on the sweet side: Cannoli, spumoni, and, yes, water ice.
So, please give Sara May a big round of applause on the new gig, and kudos to Turney for identifying and hiring the one headliner pastry chef that will bring the perfect ending to those homey Italian meals. Little Nonna's launch day can't come soon enough.
