Very reliable real estate sources are telling us that the space where the Rittenhouse Tavern currently lives will be up for sale sometime at the end of September or early October, which would mean the end of the restaurant. The corporate entity behind the eatery, Restaurant Associates, told us that "right now we have a contract for that location. And it's very important to us to keep that restaurant open."
In case you've been living under a rock, Nick Elmi was the original executive chef of Rittenhouse Tavern and garnered himself some phenomenal reviews, but left a few months back to pursue other opportunities, like Top Chef. We surely hope this isn't true, as the Rittenhouse Tavern was a perfect fit for the space, and offered one of the prettiest al fresco locations in the city. Stay tuned.
