Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran graced the pages of The New York Times on Sunday for their trailblazing work on 13th Street. The piece discusses the monster gamble Turney and Safran took by starting their empire on one of the few open-air red light district blocks left in town. It now lives as a "reservations are a must" restaurant row, with the only relic left from that bygone era a methadone clinic. It's a solid read. [NYT]
