Massive Pizzeria Opening in Fishtown

Plans for a huge Fishtown pizza joint have materialized for the southwest corner of York and Gaul Streets, across from 2424 Studios. Most recently it was a bright red meatpacking warehouse, but, if everything goes as planned, they'll be moving in a wood-fired pizza oven and serving pies to diners situated on a rooftop patio.

The owners of Joe's Pizza in Rittenhouse Square are part owners of the new proejct, and the team at Landmark Architectural Design are doing the design work for the restaurant. The Fishtown Neighbors Association approved of the plans by a vote of 30-10, but there is no timeline for when demo and construction will begin. Stay tuned.
