Pumpkin Market Closing; Restaurant Week is Coming

New, 1 comment

SOUTH STREETPumpkin Market was a trailblazer in the wilds of South Street West, and we just got word that they're closing up shop for good. Luckily the restaurant is still going strong, but that market was full of prepared goods that were some of the best Philly has ever seen. Owners Ian Maroney and Hilary Bor said the reason for the shutter is the steep rent increase. [Foobooz]

CENTER CITYEvery restaurant owners favorite time of year, Center City Restaurant Week, is just around the corner. The dates have been set for September 15 through 20, and the 22 through the 27. Believe it or not, this is the 10th anniversary of the discount restaurant celebration. [EaterWire]

JERSEYThe Insider is reporting that Aldo Lamberti shut down his Mount Holly, NJ restaurant Italyani, which just opened up late last year. The restaurant shutter caught many by surprise, but if you happen to have a gift certificate from Italyani, it can be used at any of Lamberti's restaurants. [The Insider]
