Mike Klein at The Insider is reporting that the former Chick's Social at 614 S. 7th Street has been bought by restaurateurs Bernard and Chloe Grigri. The father-daughter team is changing the name to The Good King Tavern, and will be serving what they're calling French tavern cuisine. Former Jamonera and Morgan's Pier chef de cuisine Paul Lyons is heading up the kitchen.
On the booze side, they'll have signature cocktails, bottles of wine and draft beers. Operating hours will be from 4 p.m. until late night. They're shooting for an October opening date. Stay tuned.
