Retro Hot Dog Dinner at Hot Diggity

In best-thing-we've-heard-all-week news, the Hot Diggity is hosting a Retro Hot Dog Dinner on Wednesday, February 5th at 8 p.m., featuring "wild and eccentric" hot dog recipes heavy on the '70s Americana. And the whole multi-course BYOB vintage bonanza runs just $20 a head (call for reservations).

Highlights from the all-star menu (see the full thing below) include "Asian hot dog casserole," cuke and hot dog spread, and the appropriately named "hot diggities," which owner Keith Garabedian describes as "an old recipe that involves rolling hot dogs on a stick in ketchup and then breading them with crushed corn flakes before baking them in the oven." And yes, the words "hot dog salad" appear more than once.

But will there be Jello mold? Of course there will be Jello mold. Stop asking stupid questions. (And to get fully in the spirit of the thing, you might as well spend the rest of your Friday reveling in the Gallery of Regrettable Food or these absolutely timeless old Weight Watchers cards.)
